Itinerary
Day 1 - Monday
- Morning arrivals to The Clermont, Victoria Hotel in London
Just steps from Buckingham Palace - Afternoon at The Chelsea Detective tour of London
Visit the Chelsea neighborhood of London where the series The Chelsea Detective is filmed - Evening welcome to London reception and dinner with special guests from Acorn TV
- Overnight accommodations at The Clermont, Victoria Hotel
Today you’ll be greeted in the luxurious surroundings of The Clermont, Victoria located near Buckingham Palace and in the heart of ceremonial London.
In the afternoon we will set off for an in-depth walking tour of Chelsea, the backdrop of The Chelsea Detective as seen on Acorn TV. You’ll hear about the architecture and history of the area on a fascinating tour.
In the evening we will gather for a welcome reception and dinner with a special guest from Acorn TV – what a way to toast what will be a great week ahead!
Day 2 - Tuesday

- A visit to Hatfield House and Gardens

Today we will journey to Hatfield House, the magnificent early home of Queen Elizabeth I – in fact it was at Hatfield in 1558 that the queen received the news that she had ascended to the throne. At Hatfield you’ll have time to explore the gorgeous interiors as well as the superb gardens – followed by lunch onsite.
Later in the day we will head to historic Cambridge where you will enjoy the many sights in this magnificent university city. You may well want to go punting on the River Cam and later on we’ll gather for "Cocktails with a Crime Writer" where you’ll hear more from Sophie Hannah, the continuing author of the Poirot series.
Tonight’s accommodations will be at The University Arms Hotel – right in the heart of Cambridge.
Day 3- Wednesday
- Breakfast and morning in Cambridge for further exploration
- 11:00am – Coach departure from Cambridge
- Journey to the scenic Peak District of England
- A tour of magnificent Chatsworth House and gardens

This morning after a delicious breakfast, you may want to take some time for further exploration of Cambridge.
Later, we will head to the Peak District for a visit to Chatsworth, which is truly England’s grandest country home. Here you will marvel at the state rooms used by the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire and the many acres of lush gardens.
We will end the day in the historic city of York, our home for the next three evenings. Our base will be the lovely Grand Hotel, York’s only 5-star property – located in the heart of the ancient city walls.
Day 4 - Thursday

- Expert-led walking tour of the historic centre of York
- Tour of York Minster
One of England’s finest cathedrals established in the 7th Century and renowned for its Medieval stained glass - Very special interactive cooking class and group dinner in York

Today we will go in-depth into the history and architecture of one of England’s loveliest cities, York.
You will enjoy a walking tour of the historic city followed by a visit to York Minster, one of the grandest cathedrals in Northern Europe – famous for its stained glass windows, which have inspired visitors for centuries.
In the evening, we will gather for a very special interactive cooking class in York, followed by a group dinner.
Day 5 - Friday

- Day trip to the Yorkshire Dales

- A visit to Burnsall Church
- A visit to the charming village of Grassington

We will journey to the gorgeous Yorkshire Dales for a full day of exploration. You’ll see many of the sites used for filming including Burnsall Church, Bolton Abbey and the perfect little village of Grassington, known as "Darrowby" in the series. Not only will you see the sights, but you’ll also go in-depth into Yorkshire life by meeting local people and sampling local foods.
This will be a day to remember in the Yorkshire Dales.
Day 6 - Saturday

- Journey to Bletchley Park, home of the WWII codebreakers

Just after breakfast we will depart our Yorkshire home for Bletchley Park, home of the codebreakers of World War II. Here you’ll see how Bletchley was instrumental in the ending of the war and saved countless lives.
After an informative visit we will head back to London for a farewell dinner in London with another special guest from Acorn TV – and another chance to toast what was a magnificent journey.
