Itinerary

Day 1 - Monday - September 20th

THE EARLY LIFE OF HER MAJESTY

  • Morning arrivals to Amba Hotel, Charing Cross, London
  • Afternoon visits, with expert commentary, to The Queen’s birthplace & childhood home at 145 Piccadilly
  • A special Royal Warrant tour of Mayfair with behind-the-scenes access to shops holding The Queen’s royal warrant
  • Welcome to London reception and dinner
  • After dinner, Andrew Lannerd will present “Royal Encounters & Collecting”
  • Overnight at Amba Hotel, Charing Cross

Today as we begin the journey together, we will focus on the early life and childhood of Her Majesty The Queen, with visits to the site of her birthplace and her childhood home, as well as visits to some of her favorite retailers in Mayfair. We will also hear from experts about her early life, and her experiences during World War II.

In the evening, we will enjoy a reception and three-course dinner with a fascinating look at the Queen’s childhood, followed by a lecture by Andrew Lannerd about his encounters with the Royal Family over the years and his very special royal collection. Overnight accommodations will be at the beautiful Amba Hotel, Charing Cross just steps from Trafalgar Square.

Day 2 - Tuesday - September 21st

Today, we go behind-the-scenes of Her Majesty’s wedding and coronation. Along with a memorable visit to Westminster Abbey and the State Apartments at Buckingham Palace, you’ll also have a chance to see Clarence House, the first residence of Princess Elizabeth & The Duke of Edinburgh after their marriage.

Day 3 - Wednesday - September 22nd

Today, we will focus on The Queen’s beloved weekend home with special visits to Windsor and an unforgettable overnight at Luton Hoo, where Princess Elizabeth & The Duke of Edinburgh spent part of their honeymoon in 1947.

After a very special dinner in the Library at Luton Hoo, we will hear from renowned royal expert and editor of Majesty Magazine, Ingrid Seward, about The Queen’s marriage.

Day 4 - Thursday - September 23rd

Today, after a luxurious breakfast in the dining room at Luton Hoo, we will journey to Norfolk — home to The Queen’s beloved estate at Sandringham. There we will enjoy a tour of both the house and the gardens, plus a visit to St. Mary Magdalene — the parish church of Her Majesty when in residence.

Our evening transpires at Bedford Lodge, our magnificent hotel offering a unique overnight stay, dinner, and lecture on royal photography.

Day 5 - Friday - September 24th

Today we will visit magnificent Ely Cathedral, one of Britain’s finest, and filming site during the series, The Crown.

Then we are off to the splendid and intimate St. Paul’s Walden Bury, where Queen Elizabeth The Mother spent part of her childhood. The College of Arms, the grantors of Coats of Arms since 1484, is our next stop. Normally, the collections and archives of this unique institution are off-limits to the general public, but today we will enjoy an exclusive tour into their day-to-day operations and royal connections.

We end our evening back in Central London to explore the city or experience London’s world-renowned theatre.

Day 6 - Saturday - September 25th

A ROYAL LEGACY

  • Champagne reception and private tour with the Crown Jewels at Her Majesty’s Palace and Fortress, The Tower of London

This morning you will enjoy a private tour of the wonderful Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy, one of Her Majesty’s private chapels in London filled with many royal associations through the centuries.

This afternoon we are off to The Tower of London for a very special private reception with the crown jewels.

We will end the day in style with a gala dinner and lecture — an appropriate way to toast a magnificent, exclusive, behind-the-scenes week following the life and reign of Her Majesty The Queen.
